Maggie McKnight is a 25 unit, independent living facility, located in Xenia, Ohio. It is located in downtown Xenia and is within walking distance to most of the area retail stores.
Maggie McKnight is a three-story apartment complex with 25 one-bedroom, apartments. Five apartments are designed for physical accessibility by mobility impaired residents and are located on the ground floor. There is a secure common entrance on the ground floor. An intercom between the outer entrance and each apartment allows the residents to screen calls before giving a guest entry into the building. An elevator and stairs gives access to all upper floors. Other amenities include; carpet, a private balcony in each apartment, stoves and refrigerator and central heat and air conditioning.
Maggie is owned and managed by Greene Metropolitan Housing Authority. Skilled staff of GMHA provides routine and preventative maintenance. Maintenance staff is on call 24 hours a day for emergencies.
The apartment complex also includes a community room where the laundry facilities are located. SCOPE Nutrition Program serves lunch Monday through Friday in the community room. This gives residents an opportunity to socialize while eating a well balanced nutritious meal. Maggie McKnight also has a resident council that meets, with GMHA staff, to discuss resident issues, upcoming improvements to the facility, resident events and outings. All new residents are encouraged to attend council meetings.
